Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT)

Corporate News | 10/19/2023

The Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT) is a sort of computer-based test that adapts to the candidate’s skill level. These tests involve the administration of questions with incremental complexity: questions are calibrated based on the answers received from the candidate (if the applicant correctly answers a question of intermediate difficulty, a more difficult one will be selected; on the contrary, if the applicant gives a wrong answer, the system will choose an easier question).

Advantages

  • Time optimisation during pre-selection, selection and survey processes: is a sort of computer-based test that adapts to the candidate’s skill level.
  • Greater accuracy in the assessment phase: thanks to the use of AI and Machine Learning, CAT tests always provide results consistent with the actual skills of the candidate and extremely reliable.
  • Uniqueness of the tests provided: whenever the same candidate needs to repeat the test, he/she will be unlikely to answer the same identical questions as a library of questions has been developed with a wide set of different combinations for complexity level, which ensure tests uniqueness.
